No other way:
There is no other way to God except through God.
Most people see religion as something they themselves or something that others "have"; something practised with myriad rules, regulations and duties. The religion's adherents are supposed to have certain characteristics and expected behaviours. The fundamental problem with every religion is that they rely on works for salvation (or transcendence or what-have-you). What they do not realize is that God is manifold, multifaceted, merciful, but hating faithlessness, disbelief and sin.
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is God.
Through Jesus, a person doesn't strive to reach God the Father. Jesus is the sacrifice God demands to allay His anger, for all time, for all sin. No one could stand before God and point to their own righteousness and justify themselves before Him. My, your, anyone's righteousness is as filthy rages before a God thrice over Holy. Only God Himself could justify Himself before God: Jesus.
This shows the futility of religious practices. Yes, God's mercy is great, but so is His justice and without propitiation, His justice would be visited upon you. At the final judgment, those found outside Christ Jesus will be judged and they will, every one, be found wanting. Whereas those in Him already have the penalty paid. You cannot justify yourself before a thrice Holy God - you cannot - it is not going to happen. Do not be deceived by your parent's religion or some religion you have adopted. Anyone who practises religion has religious feelings, but they are not salvation.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
