What is the Bible?

The Bible is a collection of books written over centuries by different authors; authors imbued with the Holy Spirit to write on the truth.

Is there a "standard" Bible?

No. The closest Bible versions to a "standard" Bible are the King James Bible (Conformable) (Cambridge) in the English language (since the 1800s) and the Versio Vulgate in the Latin language (used primarily in the latin rite of the Catholic Church since the 1200s). The "Conformable" version of the King James Bible is call so because the English is standardized and slightly differs from the 1611 edition - e.g. in spelling - but otherwise does not deviate from the original text, with the obvious exception of the Apocrypha. It is called "Cambridge" because it was first published in Cambridge, England. The original King James Bible was published in 1611 and contained 80 books. The 66 book Conformable Cambridge version generally echews the 14 Apocrypha books.

King James Version only-ism?

I've heard some of the arguments and, no, I've not adopted King James Version only-ism. One name is given under heaven for salvation, and it is not James.

Other Bible versions?

There are many versions of the Bible out there. In my humble opinion, simply pray and ask which version(s) God wills that you use.

Will there be more books added to the Bible in the future?

All things are possible with God, but the addition of new books is very unlikely even if the Lord came down and wrote them Himself!

Do you have a favourite Bible?

Yes.

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.

In the beginning was the Word:
the Word was with God
and the Word was God.

The Word became flesh,
He lived among us,
and we saw His glory,
the glory that He has from the Father as only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
